Attaching the optional KX-HDV20 to the unit. The optional KX-HDV20 has 20 DSS keys. In addition, 40 function keys (20 keys ´ 2 pages) are available on the device. These keys are used to seize a line, to make or answer a call or to perform a function assigned to the keys. Remove the stand from both KX-HDV230 and KX-HDV20 See "Removing the stand", page 56. Insert the tabs of the KX-HDV20 into the corresponding openings at the bottom of the device. Then slide the KX-HDV20 in the direction of the arrow. Fix the KX-HDV20 to the bottom of the unit using the supplied screw. Attach the stand to both the KX-HDV230 and KX-HDV20. See "Attaching the stand", page 54 If the unit is to be mounted on a wall, mount it on the wall. See "Wall mounting", page 59. Connect the KX-HDV20 to the device. Use the cable supplied for this purpose. See "Connections (including the optional KX-HDV20)", page 57. Turn on the KX-HDV230. Up to 5 KX-HDV20 modules can be connected to the product. However, if you mount the product on the wall, only one KX-HDV20 module can be used.
The KX-HDV230 and up to 5 optional KX-HDV20 modules can be wall mounted. Ensure that the wall surface and mounting device are stable enough for the weight of the unit. (See "Technical data", page 71.) Insert the brackets off the wall mounting adapter into the corresponding openings at the bottom of the device. Then slide the wall mounting adapter in the direction of the arrow until it clicks into place. Remove the screw from the KX-HDV20 DSS cover and slide the cover up to remove it. Attach the wall mount adapter to the bottom of the unit using the small screw supplied. (Recommended torque: 0.4 N-m[4.08 kgf-cm/3.54 lbf-inch] to 0.6 N-m[6.12 kgf-cm/5.31 lbf-inch]) Connect the power supply, handset cable, Ethernet cable and the connection cables. Fasten the large screws 83 mm (3 1/4 inch) or 100 mm (3 15/16 inch) apart and attach to the wall.
